A paradigm shift

There has been a paradigm shift in the way one looks at reconstruction steel. Around the World, especially in developed countries like USA, UK, Germany, France, Japan, China, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates there has been an upgrade to higher grades of steel. Increasingly due to the scarcity of space, a spurt in the construction of multi-storied buildings and cities are growing vertically. This calls for the use of higher grade of steel to provide the requisite strength. A host of geographical factors including earthquake zoning has also influenced such upgrading of reinforcement steel and new specification has been set up by the countries. In India too, a new strength grade Fe 600 has been introduced as per an amendment in November 2012 of the IS 1786 : 2008. Captain has been one of the few brands in the country to have qualified to this higher order of technological process of manufacturing. With state-of-the-art equipment and high skill work set, it has successfully launched Captain TMT 600 EQR.

1. More effective in seismic zones: Large parts of India, especially the East and the North East, fall in the high to highest seismic zone. The probability and occurrence of earthquakes being greater in this part of the country, makes it extremely important to protect concrete structures from damage. Captain 600 EQR, due to its superior mechanical properties, is better equipped for this.

2. More savings of cost and time: Constructions require a lesser quantity of TMT bars when Captain TMT 600 EQR is used, as compared to other ordinary bars, thus resulting in direct savings of cost on steel. Indirectly, among others, labour time can also be controlled effectively. All this can lead to savings as high as 20%.
